Firefighters investigate blaze at vacant house

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

An investigation is underway to try to determine what caused a fire that destroyed a vacant house Tuesday night.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported it happened on Greenwell Springs Road near Ridgemont Drive around 9:15 p.m.

Firefighters said flames were shooting through a back wall of the home when they arrived on scene. They added no one was inside at the time and no injuries were reported.

Although exactly what sparked the fire is still unknown, fire officials reported it started in the back bedroom area near the electrical panel.
