Livingston councilwoman proposing food truck ordinance

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Rules about when and where food trucks can operate are part of a proposed ordinance in Denham Springs.

Councilwoman Annie Fugler says it's only fair if brick and mortar restaurants have to follow rules that food trucks should also be held to some standards.

However the city only has one food truck in business right now. The owner says he doesn't understand why suddenly the city wants more restrictions.

"We have to have the same certificates and everything else as every other restaurant. We're regulated the same," says Food Truck Owner Todd Sibley.

The proposed ordinance includes rules like not having food trucks park and sell within 300 feet of other restaurants.
