$700,000 in liquid meth found hidden in suitcase on commercial bus

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police say one of the largest drug busts of liquid meth in the country happened in Baton Rouge Monday just after noon.

A commercial passenger bus was pulled over for a traffic stop on I-12 between Airline Highway and Sherwood Forest Blvd around 12:15 p.m. 

A K9 officer found 36 bottles of liquid meth hidden inside a suitcase in the luggage compartment of the bus. The estimated street value of the drugs is $700,000. 

Police say 34-year-old Vanessa Hernandez was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with possession of schedule II narcotics in excess of 400 grams.
