BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A total of nine fire trucks and Red Cross were called out to a fire that happened just before 4 p.m. Sunday.
The cause of the fire in the 3900 block of Provost Ave. is undetermined, but the fire damaged more than half of the structure, and the other half sustained significant smoke damage.
According to the report from the Baton Rouge Fire Department, a special nozzle had to be used to extinguish the fire due to the "numerous large piles of items collected in the home."
The fire was under control just before 5:30 p.m.
Although no injuries were reported in the fire, the home's occupant was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Entergy was also called to the scene.
