Police: Store clerk chases customer with shotgun

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A store clerk was arrested after chasing a customer and threatening him with a shotgun, according to Baton Rouge police.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Mohamed Amin after he threatened a customer with a gun just before 6 am on Saturday.

The victim told police that after walking into Triple S Food Mart to purchase a cigar, he got into a verbal altercation with the store clerk, Amin.

According to police, Amin then chased the victim out of the store, aiming a shotgun at him and threatening him. The customer stated that Amin's friend took the gun and shot three rounds into the air, causing the victim to drive away in fear for his life.

Reports show that when questioned by police, Amin initially lied about the incident and stated he had no knowledge of shots being fired or the altercation with the victim. Shortly after, he admitted to leaving the store to chase after the victim with a gun.

Video along with audio allowed police to see the entire altercation between the victim and Amin. The video showed the verbal disagreement, the victim walking away from the store, and Amin chasing after the victim with the shotgun.

Amin was sent to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and resisting an officer. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
