BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a car that left the scene of a crash that injured a woman late Monday night.
Louisiana State Police reported the hit and run wreck happened at the intersection of Jefferson Highway (LA 73) and Bluebonnet Boulevard (LA 1248) in Baton Rouge around 11:30 p.m.
Troopers said the initial investigation showed Amber Sandifer, 29, of Port Allen, was headed westbound on Jefferson in a 2005 Nissan Sentra. They believe as she passed through the intersection, a yellow Scion tC (2004-2010 model) headed northbound on Bluebonnet hit the left back bumper of her car.
Investigators added the Scion kept on heading north on Bluebonnet toward Airline Highway (US 61).
Sandifer was taken to Ochsner Hospital in Baton Rouge with moderate injuries.
LSP said evidence at the scene of the accident indicates the Scion may have had aftermarket bright yellow paint. Officials added the car will have damage the left front fender, headlight and front bumper.
Anyone with information about the car or the crash is urged to call Troop A at 225-754-8500 or their local law enforcement agency.
