BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Book Festival will be Saturday, Nov.1 and Thursday Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne announced a new major sponsor that will keep the book fest going for years to come.
The sponsor is the State Endowment for the Humanities. The event is a tourism draw that has struggled to get funding over the years.
Dardenne also announced that the fest will honor George Rodrigue, the late great Louisiana artist and his foundation.
“So it promises to be bigger and better than ever,” Dardenne says. “We've got books about Louisiana and outstanding Louisiana authors with their newest books.”
The fest will take place in Capitol Park. Among the visiting authors will be James Carville and Marty Matalin.
