BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Attorney General Buddy Caldwell Tuesday said Gov. Jindal's healthcare plans for some state workers and state retirees may not be legal.
He said the governor ignored a law meant to protect against a single-minded railroading of policy change.
The changes have panicked a number of the 230,000 affected because they've been told to pick a new insurance plan by the end of October and get ready to pay much more for it.
Caldwell says because the governor's plan was done illegally, it's invalid and unenforceable. The Jindal camp thinks the AG's interpretation of the law is wrong.
