BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The St. George Fire Department was called to a gas station at the corner of Bluebonnet and Burbank Sunday morning after a tanker trailer loaded with diesel fuel overturned.
Officials say the trailer was not connected to the truck at the time, and it happened at 9:15 a.m.
Baton Rouge Fire Department HazMat, Louisiana State Police and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality were called out because of the diesel spill. Diesel only spilled out from one of three compartments in the tanker.
There was no fire, but St. George Fire Department was on hand just in case.
There is no word on how the tanker overturned.
The remaining diesel was offloaded onto another tanker truck.
