BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Fans were out early Saturday to celebrate and get ready for the first SEC match of the season with LSU vs. Mississippi State.
Some fans were out before dawn at the parade grounds, cooking up a storm with hamburgers and hotdogs, and everything in between.
Fans say the first couple of games the Tigers played were just pre-season, compared to the SEC games.
"Now this is LSU's opportunity to show what we know they have," says LSU fan Tehe Governor. "It's a brand new team that we have, so now it's the time for them to show that they are the LSU we know they are."
One fan traveled internationally for Saturday's game. Phillipe Fourneir came from Montreal, Canada with his 13-year old son to see LSU play the Bulldogs.
"Louisiana has so much history, so the connection was easy with Baton Rouge," said Fourneir. "We've been fans since the last championship in 2007."
