Walker Police: Man wanted on battery, robbery, sex offender charges

WALKER, LA (WAFB) -

Officers with the Walker Police Department need the public's help in finding 33-year-old Dennis Shampine. He is wanted on charges of battery, two counts of robbery and failure to register as a sex offender.

Police say Shampine often stays in the Walker area, frequently in unoccupied trailers or houses.

He is described as a white male, 5'8" and about 185 pounds. He has light brown hair, blue eyes and a tattoo on his left shoulder.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Walker Police Department at 225-644-3125, or call 911. You are also able to text the police department anonymously by texting TIPWALKERPD to 888777, then follow the prompts. 

Police say if you come into contact with Shampine, do not confront him, just call police.
