GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - A Gonzales man has been arrested after he allegedly made threats to a local judge and the district attorney.
Officials say Paul Cleveland, 71, was arrested at his home. On Friday, Cleveland was in court in Baton Rouge appealing a DWI arrest when he allegedly said that he was going back to Ascension parish where he was going to kill the judge, the district attorney, and then kill himself.
Officials say he made the statement to a clerk of the court who reported it to court security and the Baton Rouge Police Department. A warrant was issued for threatening a public official.
He is in the Ascension Parish jail.
