BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Hundreds of Apple fans in and around the capital city lined the boardwalk outside of the Apple store at the Mall of Louisiana Friday morning, eager to be one of the first to get their hands on the new iPhones; the 6 and 6 Plus.

The phones, boasting bigger screens, higher color resolutions and faster processing, are the 8th group of phones to be released from Apple since the first generation was released in 2007. Apple lovers say the phones keep getting better.

"They are giving the option now to pay through the phone instead of the visa card... this needs to be discovered" said Jad Coumine, who camped out in line since nine Thursday night.

"Apple makes great products so I just had to come out" said another customer, Tony Hunter.

After waiting for hours, some overnight, when the doors opened at eight Friday morning, customers say anticipation turned to relief.

"We went from being tired, to having so much anticipation" said Hunter. "We were the first group to go in... and there it is, I still have the paper on it, the iPhone 6 Plus.

For now the phones are the newest tech devices and fans say they've been worth the wait.

"Definitely worth it" Hunter said. "I can't wait to get back to my apartment and play around with my new tech device".

"Now I will need to send it to my country as soon as possible. My wife is waiting" said Coumine.
