BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Detectives with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's office have arrested three people involved in a bank robbery Wednesday morning at the Chase Bank, 6170 Jones Creek Road, in Baton Rouge.
The suspects are Leroy George III, 19,charged with first-degree robbery; Terri Lynn Larrieu, 50, charged with first-degree robbery; and Regina Ann Alfred, 39, charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree robbery. All three live on O'Neal Lane. George is Larrieu's nephew.
Police say George went into the bank at about 10:40 this morning with his face covered and handed the bank teller a plastic shopping bag. He stated he had a weapon, but it was not visible and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount, he exited the bank and ran north on Jones Creek. He was last seen getting into a silver car parked nearby. A witness was able to give detectives the license plate number of the vehicle.
Detectives located the vehicle, driven by Larrieu, on O'Neal Lane a short time later. Detectives proceeded to Larrieu's residence where they located Alfred, George, and a large amount of money, including four money orders.
George admitted that he entered the bank and committed the robbery, but stated he was not armed. Larrieu admitted to detectives that she was driving during the robbery. Alfred said she was aware of the planned robbery which she say they did because they were facing eviction.
