BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A state lawmaker wanted more than he got in a report on sexual assaults at Louisiana's colleges and universities.
State Senator J.P. Morrell says the Board of Regents' 500-page report released Monday was disappointing.
He said it was supposed to include campus-by-campus breakdown of the number of cases reported and investigated as well as indepth information about policies and procedures. Instead he calls most of the information vague- if even reported.
"I think at this point, looking at it, the only thing that was clear and indisputable is that there is no statewide policy on sexual assault on campuses," Morrell said. "Every campus kind of does what they want to do and the fact that there is no uniformity means it's hard to have accountability."
Morrell plans to request a report that is more indepth.
