GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Narcotics detectives said a man suspected of giving teens marijuana and having sex with them was arrested on several charges.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Jose Hernandez, 36, of Gonzales, and three other men from Gonzales were taken into custody as a result of the investigation that began on September 12.
Maj. Kevin Hanna with APSO said detectives received information about drugs being used and possibly given to juveniles at Hernandez's home. He added a legal search of the home turned up marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun. Authorities said Simeon Hernandez, 25, the suspect's roommate, was also at the home. According to Hanna, both men admitted to having sex with juveniles.
Investigators said Hernandez's suspected drug supplier, Tevrion Carter, 23, showed up at the home during the search. It is believed he was trying to drop off drugs. Authorities said he hurried up and drove off, but was later arrested after losing control of his car and crashing.
Detectives stated another man showed up while they were combing through Hernandez's house. They said Adam Hopp, 36, was questioned and arrested. They reported Hopp was found with "a smoking device that contained marijuana." They added there were two underage girls in his car. The girls were released to their guardian.
Jose Hernandez was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on the following charges:
His bond was set at $35,344.50.
