Arrest made after man found with cuts from abdomen to face

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Deputies were called to a home on Benton Road in Tickfaw, La. for reports that a man was cut during a fight.

It happened early Monday morning. 

Deputies found a man lying on the ground with cuts from his abdomen to his face. 

Reports say 43-year-old Hammond resident Robert Reid and the victim were arguing and it quickly escalated into a fight. Multiple people jumped in the fight. Officials say Reid armed himself with a knife and cut the victim numerous times. Reid then ran off.

Witnesses told deputies Reid ran to his house in Hammond. Deputies and TPSO K9 Vhari found Reid and arrested him.

Deputies found multiple guns and a clear, plastic bag of suspected marijuana. 

Reid was charged with aggravated battery by cutting, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of stolen property and simple battery.
