PIERRE PART, LA (WAFB) -

Officials at schools in Pierre Part will be hosting a family fun day on Sunday to raise funds to help them bring technology to their primary and middle school students.

"We are trying to find every way that we can to enhance the learning of our students," said Principal Wanda Templet of Pierre Part Middle School. "We know that technology is something that our kids have grown up with, so we're starting to increase our use of smart boards. One other thing is Kindles."

Currently, some classrooms use smart boards and Kindles, but Templet said the demand is there for more.

The family fun day is set for Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Pierre Part schools in Assumption Parish.
