EAST FELICIANA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A Jackson man has been arrested for the burglary of a sporting goods store in East Feliciana Parish.
Detectives say Braelin Whitfield, 18, turned himself him shortly before midnight on Wednesday. He was booked for simple burglary and theft of a firearm.
According to Louisiana State Police, the suspect broke into the Thompson Creek Sporting Goods store on LA Hwy 10 in Jackson. Surveillance footage caught the suspect placing guns into a bag and leaving the store. Afterwards, he returns and gathered several more guns into the bag once again before leaving.
Officials say he stole 28 guns. So far about 18 of the guns have been recovered.
The case is still under investigation and other arrests may be pending.
