BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A group in Sorrento, La. discovered a need that many don't want to talk about; caskets for children. The group is now dedicated to help families when they need it the most.
For 25 years, Bobby Siears has crafted some of the best wood cabinets around, but in a message from God, all of that changed.
Bobby went from cabinets to caskets for children.
Bobby and his family run "The Little Angels Foundation." They provide handmade caskets, free of charge, to families in their time of need.
At this point Bobby has made 86 caskets; on his own and only with donations.
Bobby may never meet the little angels he serves, but each photograph replaces the part of himself he puts into each casket.
He has letters from the mothers and fathers thanking him. One of the parents nominated Bobby for WAFB's Hand It On project.
It is hard to understand why there is a need for such a thing. Why young people, children have to die. But thankfully, there are people like Bobby to make it a bit easier.
