BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Board of Directors of the Iris Domestic Violence Center is searching for a new Executive Director. The exiting Executive Director, Judy Benitez, has resigned.
The search for the new position is going to be nationwide. Currently, Gail Gaiennie of Baton Rouge will serve as the Interim Executive Director. According to a spokesperson, Gaiennie has 15 years of experience in serving multiple non-profit organizations in Baton Rouge.
"We are extremely grateful for Judy's years of service to our agency, survivors, and the community in which we serve," said President of Board Directors Danna LeBlanc. "She has been an asset to the organization, and we wish her well in her future endeavors."
The agency provides a 24-hour response hotline for domestic violence matters, emergency shelter, counseling, and other services. They are currently serving in EBR Parish, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, and East and West Feliciana Parishes.
