BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police arrested a man for allegedly beating a four-year-old resulting in 30 bruises covering his entire body.
Police say Dandre Robinson was arrested for cruelty to a juvenile. Officials say they were called to the Baton Rouge General Hospital on Sept. 9 at about 7:30 p.m. about a battery of a juvenile on Arbutus Street. Officers were advised that the child had been hit by the mother's boyfriend who was identified as Robinson.
Officials say they observed 30 bruises on the child's body and the child told them that "Dandre whooped me for peeing on myself today." He said he had been beaten with a cord.
Officers talked to Robinson who admitted he had hit the child with a double-looped extension cord. He said he hit the child about five or six times and didn't think it was hard enough to cause the bruising.
He was booked into the parish prison.
