BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Yelp! Baton Rouge is asking for the public's help after a tree limb fell on the roof of their rescue house. It happened on August 22 and it punctured the roof in four places. The group also needs help with repairing the damage the tree limb caused.
According to Yelp! officials, several tree-removal companies say a rotten Oak tree will fall on the Yelp! house any day, and it will cost roughly $4,500 to have the tree removed. Donations are tax deductible, and Yelp! Baton Rouge officials say they can provide a tax receipt.
Thankfully when the tree limb fell on Aug. 22, no animals were injured.
Yelp! Baton Rouge is a no-kill dog rescue located at 3205 Lanier Drive in Baton Rouge. Greco's Pet Supply allows Yelp!BR to use the house for free, however Yelp! is responsible for utilities and maintenance. Yelp! Baton Rouge officials are looking for licensed volunteers to help with home repairs such as roofing and plumbing work.
A decision on the tree removal will be made by Monday. If more than $4,500 is raised, the extra funds will go towards "some much needed Yelp!BR repairs." To get updates on the progress, go to the
