CHARENTON, LA (WAFB) - Sheriff's deputies said a 13-year-old boy faces battery and other charges after he allegedly attacked two teachers, sending them both to the hospital.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported the incident happened at B.E. Boudreaux Middle School in Baldwin on Tuesday. Authorities said the boy is from Charenton, but did not release his name.
He was arrested on two counts of simple battery, criminal damage to property and ungovernable juvenile.
Investigators said the boy is accused of hitting one teacher and pushing another. They added the teachers went to Franklin Foundation Hospital for treatment and were later released.
According to reports, the suspect was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
