Trevor's Wish Food Drive cranks up to help feed the hungry

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A food drive held across Baton Rouge on behalf of a little boy who wanted to help others even as he was dying of cancer kicked into full gear Tuesday. 

Trevor Sims inspired thousands of people throughout Baton Rouge and Louisiana with his Trevor's Wish Food Drive. 

The drive began on Labor Day and will extend throughout the month of September. Donations will go to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. 

An official kick-off party will be held at Caliente Restaurant on Tuesday.

Trevor lost his battle to cancer in October 2013.
