GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - River Parishes Community College(RPCC) Foundation has reached its Capital Campaign goal of $1.1 million dollars to build the new Advanced Technology Center.
More than 30 local business, industry and community partners joined together to help RPCC reach its 12 percent match.
"These businesses and individuals have made a contribution to this project that will have great long-term effects on the workforce needs of the River Parishes. RPCC will be able to provide local citizens the training needed to join the highly skilled workforce in the area," said Chancellor Dale Doty.
The Advanced Technology Center will help train welders, electricians, pipefitters, and technicians to meet the shortage of employees needed to fill jobs at the ever-expanding petrochemical plants in the area.
Construction is set to begin in January.
