BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Parish Attorney who was put on paid leave last week 'can move forward with her lawsuit against the Metro Council.'
Judge Mike Caldwell made the ruling Friday. He also stated he will not stop the council from holding a hearing about her job on Sept. 10.
However, he will hold a court hearing on Sept. 5 to determine whether the council has to present a reason for removing Roper.
This all started after an investigation in which officials alleged that she sent software developed by the parish to a private email. Roper was locked out of her parish office and email last week.
She has since been fighting to get her job back.
