PHOENIX (CBS5) -

One person was killed in a crash that closed eastbound U.S. Highway 60 at 99th Avenue for most of Thursday morning, an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer said.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. and involved two vehicles, the officer said.

Eastbound traffic on the road, also known as Grand Avenue, was being diverted to either northbound or southbound 99th Avenue, an Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman said.

The closure lasted through the morning commute before the road was reopened just after 10:30 a.m., the spokesman said.
