BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man was arrested after being accused of hitting his father in the head with a baseball bat. The father is in the intensive care unit at a hospital due to bleeding on the brain.
Police arrived at a home on Blount Road just before 3 p.m. after receiving a call about an assault. Officers say the victim was incoherent and could not speak. A witness told police the victim had been hit in the head with a baseball bat after he told his son to leave the house, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Just before 11 p.m., 54-year-old Cleveland Morrison was located. According to reports, Morrison denied hitting his father with a bat.
A witness told police that Morrison said "it's all out war" and said he just hit someone with a bat and asked the witness for a gun. The witness did not give Morrison a gun.
Morrison has been charged with aggravated second degree battery, cruelty to the infirm, and illegal use of a weapon.
