BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The hottest weekend so far this year may be here in the Capital area, and Baton Rouge EMS is warning everyone to stay hydrated, stay cool and stay safe.
"If you know that you're going to be outside all day Saturday and Sunday, start hydrating yourself today," said Mike Chustz with Baton Rouge EMS. "Have some extra water, Powerade, sports drink. Try to avoid caffeine, avoid alcohol and things like that when outdoors, and of course, you can do your outdoor activities in the early morning or later in the afternoon. It is a lot safer to do it that way."
This weekend is expected to be partly cloudy and HOT with spotty showers and storms. The temperature outside will feel like feels like 108° - 109°!!
