MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The City of Montgomery has announced that the screening procedures for Cramton Bowl High School Football Games have been renewed for the 2014 season.

The Montgomery Public School System, Montgomery Police Department and the city's Parks and Recreation Department will be working together at all the games at Cramton Bowl during the 2014 high school football season.

"The security process worked well last year," said MPS Superintendent Margaret Allen. "We have an effective partnership with the Montgomery Police Department, Parks and Recreation and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. We are working as a team to ensure a safe and fun environment at our football games."

Just like during the 2013 football season, every person entering the facility will be checked by a metal detector and screened for weapons. Band members, cheerleaders and auxiliary groups will be included in the screening process.

"Fans should arrive approximately 30 minutes before kickoff to ensure everyone gets through the process and finds their seat before the game begins," said Montgomery Interim Police Chief John Brown. "There will also be MPD officers in the parking area and inside the stadium to ensure everyone has a great time at each game."

Cramton Bowl prohibits oversized clothing and insignia that promotes illegal activity or violence. Weapons, alcohol, outside food, coolers, umbrellas, backpacks, duffle bags and artificial noise makers are also not allowed.

There are 20 MPS football games scheduled this year at Cramton Bowl. The first game is between the Sidney Lanier Poets and the Lee Generals on Thursday.
