DONALDSONVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

The identity of a teen who was found dead Thursday is expected to be revealed this week.

Deputies said they are waiting for the autopsy results to determine the positive identity of the victim. The body was found in Donaldsonville just a few days after Brandon Augustus, 15, disappeared.

Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley said investigators found the body in a heavily wooded area on the banks of the Mississippi River after a nearby worker called authorities. He added foul play is suspected in the case.

"We are treating this as a homicide and although the body has not been identified, it does appear that it is a body of a young black male," Wiley said Thursday.

Friends of Augustus fear the worst. The teen was described as a quiet and good friend.
