Evangel's Taylor paving the way at LA Tech

RUSTON, LA -

He's not that big, he's not that tall but former Evangel Eagle now Louisiana Tech wide receiver Trent Taylor will be the go to guy at receiver for the Bulldogs this season.

Head coach Skip Holtz says they'll most likely rely on the 5'8....175 pound sophomore more than any other wide out this season. Taylor was 4th on the team in catches last season but just like he did at Evangel, he says in 2014 it's time to dominate.

Taylor said, "A couple guys in my position graduated last year so I know some body has to step up and fill that void. Hopefully I can be that guy and play that role for this team."

"He's got a great feel for this offense, he's got a great feel for being a receiver. He does a super job, he's elusive and he's really one of the leaders right now," said Holtz.

Taylor says his elusiveness fits perfectly with what Tech is trying to accomplish on offense. "Coach is definitely trying to keep that up tempo offense going so we've working that in practice lately trying to get our green light offense going is what we call it."

Taylor was tied for first for most touchdowns on the team last season.
