CENTRAL, LA (WAFB) - A former city leader and founder died Saturday. Former Central Mayor Pro-Tem Ralph Washington served the city of Central since it was founded in July 2005 until July 1, 2014.
Washington was a Republican and the highest ranking black Republican in the municipal government in Louisiana. He leaves behind a wife and two kids. Funeral arrangements are still being finalized at this time.
The exact cause of Washington's death is unknown; however, he reportedly had been facing health issues related to diabetes.
