Cincinnati celebrates 26th annual Black Family Reunion

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati is celebrating the 26th annual Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion Celebration this weekend.

More than 50,000 patrons are expected to participate.

Saturday's events kick off with the Black Family Reunion celebration parade at 10 a.m. starting at the Avondale Town Center. Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell is the grand marshall.

  • Main Event booths open 12-8 p.m.
  • R&B concert 3-8 p.m.

Sunday starts out with a morning service at 11 a.m., led by Pastor K. Z. Smith of Corinthian Baptist Church.

  • Main event booths open 12-8 p.m.
  • Gospel concert 3-8p.m.

The event was started in 1986 by Dr. Dorothy I. Height, President America of the National Council of Negro Woman.
