Police arrest man who allegedly tried to run over officer with car

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The man who officers said ran out of a police station during questioning and allegedly tried to run over an officer with his car has been caught.

According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, Chavis Duncan was booked on the following charges:

Attempted first-degree murder

Flight from an officer

Fugitive from justice

Obstruction of justice

His bond has not yet been set.

The Zachary Police Department said Duncan was at the police station meeting with his probation officer, when another officer asked him about a separate burglary investigation.

Investigators said at that point, Duncan ran out of the police station, got in his car and tried to run over an officer.
