SB Mavericks take on newest Cross Lake craze!

Even our very on KSLA Sports reporter Rashad Johnson couldn't resist trying the newest water sport that seems to have everyone talking. It's called "flyboarding."

A flyboard is a type of water jetpack attached to a personal water craft, which supplies propulsion to drive the flyboard through air and water.

A flyboard rider stands on a board connected by a long hose to a watercraft. Water is forced under pressure to a pair of boots with jet nozzles underneath, which provide thrust for the rider to fly up to 30 feet into the air.

Thursday night, members of the Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks ABA basketball teamed up with Ark-La-Tex Flyboard at Cross Lake in Shreveport.

Ark-La-Tex Flyboard owner Rich McGahan said he got the idea to bring the sport to the Shreveport after flyboarding on vacation this summer.

MaGahan said, "You don't have to have any experience and I literally mean that. The response has been overwhelming, its been awesome. It's been a world wind over the past 30 days fly folks and experiencing fly boarding here in Shreveport."

This weekend they'll have a professional fly boarder from 12 to 5 p.m. out on Cross Lake.  For more information on pricing and hours Click Here.
