Police: Woman uses child to stop vehicle from driving away

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A woman has been arrested and charged with cruelty to a juvenile after being accused of using her child to try and stop a vehicle from driving away.

Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, an anonymous caller told police a woman, now identified as 35-year-old Christina Parker, was attacking a man and busting out windows of his vehicle.

When officers arrived, the victim told police that Parker began following him as he was driving. He pulled over and Parker got out of her vehicle and began to scratch the hood of his vehicle with her keys and used her hands to break his windshield, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The report also says that as the victim was trying to leave the scene, Parker then placed her child on the trunk of the vehicle so the victim would not drive away.

The officer arrived and tried to speak with Parker, but reports "she became belligerent and was refusing to cooperate with the investigation."

Parker was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and cruelty to a juvenile. No bond has been set.
