Judge approves $48 million settlement for sinkhole residents

BAYOU BLUE, LA (WAFB) - Some closure coming soon for the hundreds of residents uprooted from Bayou Corne because of the sinkhole.  A federal judge has approved a $48 million settlement that pays for the houses of people displaced by the sinkhole.

A spokesman for Texas Brine which is the company responsible for the sinkhole says residents could see those checks as early as December.
