IBERVILLE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Cars were backed up for miles on I-10 East near the Whiskey Bay exit on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge for several hours Tuesday.

The traffic problem was caused by concrete that fell off an 18-wheeler onto the roadway, blocking the right lane of the interstate. The backup reached 10 miles at one point.

It happened on I-10 East near mile marker 126 around 5 p.m. All lanes of I-10 East were reopened around 10:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the incident is being investigated.
