GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - As if a two-and-a-half month overdue budget is not enough to deal with in Gonzales, a judge is now suing all five city council members.
District Judge Alvin Turner is filing a lawsuit related to property he owns. The council voted Monday night to deny Turner a zoning request for his 28-acre track.
Turner said because he is a judge in the Gonzales district, he and the other judges in the 23rd district will recuse themselves from the case.
He added the complaint will be heard by the Louisiana Supreme Court and a ruling is expected sometime in the next two to 10 days.
