HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Hammond Police are investigating a meth lab found in a hotel room Monday afternoon.
Police say 33-year-old Travis Jordan of Ponchatula, LA was renting a room at the Super 8 just off the interstate in Hammond. Authorities were called to the hotel about some damage to a room. When police arrived, they found a hole in the carpet and a black back in the garbage with ammonia.
Officials say one of the officers was overwhelmed by the smell and had to be taken to the hospital.
After finding the makings of a meth lab, police arrested Jordan and charged him with arson, criminal damage to property and manufacturing and possession of methamphetamines.
