Annual Crusade Reaches Thousands

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's department needs your help to bring Christmas home to more than a thousand needy children.

Sheriff Willie Graves kicked off the Eighteenth Annual Christmas Crusade at Wal-Mart in Denham Springs. For the next three weeks, he and his deputies will accept donations of new toys and money in front of Wal- Mart stores across Livingston Parish.

Graves says over the last seventeen years, the Christmas Crusade brought toys to more than thirteen-thousand children. The sheriff says that gives him a great feeling.

"These are still kids who if we don't do something for them, they're just not going to have christmas and they have the rest of their lives to be worried about things," says Sheriff Graves,"whether Santa Claus comes out to see them should not be one of them."
