Baton Rouge Police investigate Dollar General robbery

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police are investigating a robbery that took place at a Dollar General Store on Sunday morning. The robbery happened at the Dollar General on Plank Rd. just before 10:00 am.

Investigators say a black male came into the store and walked down several aisles pretending to be a customer. After picking up a few items, he brought them up to the counter as if were going to purchase them. As the clerk was checking him out, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the register. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, about 5'5", and around 130 lbs. He was wearing a long sleeved white t-shirt, blue pants, safety glasses and a black skull cap.
