BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Exxon Mobil’s donated thousands of dollars in grants to several nonprofit groups so that students could work with the companies over the summer.
Students participating in groups such as Big Buddy, BREC, Cancer Services, etc. received some valuable on-thejob experiences thanks to the company.
A spokesman for Exxon Mobil says this program helps students but also the companies.
“Through this program, we’re not only able to provide support to so many of the valuable agencies throughout our community, but we’re also able to give young people an opportunity to exercise some of their professional skills through a summer employment,” said spokesman Mark Northcutt.
Northcutt also says it is important for Exxon Mobil to be part of the community, not just be a business here.
