    The puppy was spotted under a leaking tar storage container on the public property. According to the animal rescue group that posted about the situation on Facebook, it cried out for help, unable to move as one side of his body and his face were stuck in the substance.

 PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) acquired catcher Peter O’Brien and a player to be named later or cash considerations for infielder Martin Prado, as announced by D-backs’ Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

O’Brien, 24, combined to hit .267 (103-for-386) with 23 doubles, 33 home runs and 70 RBI in 102 games with Single-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton this season. He entered today tied for second overall in the Minor Leagues in extra-base hits (58), ranked third home runs, fourth in total bases (229) and ninth in slugging percentage (.593).

O’Brien, who entered the season ranked by MLB.com as the Yankees’ No. 9 prospect, was selected to participate in the MLB All-Star Futures Game at Target Field earlier this month, and was named to the 2013 South Atlantic League midseason All-Star Team, 2013 Arizona Fall League Rising Stars Game and 2014 Eastern League midseason All-Star Team.

In 3 Minor League seasons in the Yankees’ organization, O’Brien batted .266 (278-for-1,045) with 72 doubles, 65 home runs, 200 RBI and a .533 slugging percentage in 273 games.  He has appeared in 144 games at catcher, 38 at third base, 27 at first and 11 in right field.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed hitter was selected by the Yankees in the second round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Miami.

Prado, 30, hit .270 (109-for-403) with 17 doubles, 4 triples, 5 homers and 42 RBI in 106 games for the D-backs in 2014. In 2 seasons with Arizona, he hit .278 (281-for-1,012) with 53 doubles, 6 triples, 19 home runs and 124 RBI. Over parts of 9 Major League seasons with the Atlanta Braves (2006-12) and D-backs (2013-14), he has batted .290 (1,033-for-3,558) with 221 doubles, 22 triples, 71 home runs and 410 RBI in 944 games.
