BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

An employee of Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge was arrested after being accused of stealing more than $41,000, according to Baton Rouge Police.

Alice W. Faucheaux, 57, of Ethel, LA is accused of using an Office Depot credit card from The Catholic Diocese to purchase several Visa Vanilla prepaid debit cards at multiple Office Depot locations in Baton Rouge and Zachary. According to reports, Faucheaux used the debit cards to pay various bills "along with other things."

Officials with the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge say Faucheaux's title is Secretary to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools. Baton Rouge Police initially reported that she was an office manager. Faucheaux is no longer employed with the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge.

Police say an audit reveals Faucheaux was using the credit card for unauthorized transactions from 2011 until 2014.

Faucheaux was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of felony theft and unauthorized use of an access device card. No bond has been set.
