BAKER, LA (WAFB) - For the first time since the 1990s, the Baker High McConnell Auditorium is back open.
There was a ribbon cutting ceremony held Monday morning near the intersection of Groom Road and Main Street to officially reopen the auditorium.
The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Over the last 15 months, it has undergone a $1.5 million renovation. The repairs were paid for by the City of Baker School District.
Those in attendance at the ceremony were treated to a performance by the Baker High School marching band, as well the Symphony of Soul.
