MONROE, OH (FOX19) -

A SWAT team was called to a home in Monroe after a man allegedly fired a gun at his wife and barricaded himself inside their home.

Monroe police were called to the 700 block of Main Street for a domestic violence case around 10 a.m. Saturday. When police arrived a woman was running out the door saying her husband had a gun and had attempted to shoot her.

Officers got the female to safety and attempted to talk to the husband but received no response.

Butler County SWAT was called and arrived shortly after 11:00 a.m. Main Street was blocked off between Carson and Old Orchard Lane during the stand off.

Guy Richard Perry, 56, was taken into custody around 3:30 p.m. after a five hour stand off.

Perry was charged with attempted murder, domestic violence, weapons under disability and receiving stolen property.
