DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying vehicle burglary suspects after more than 30 cars that were left unlocked were broken into early Monday morning.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office reported all of the break-ins happened in the Denham Springs area. The suspects targeted the Forest Ridge and Westminster Estates subdivisions.
"We've identified that 36 separate vehicles were broken into," said Sheriff Jason Ard. "All 36 vehicles were left unlocked."
Ard said GPS devices, credit cards, wallets and sports equipment were some of the valuables taken. He added a 2008 black Toyota FJ Cruiser with a white top was also stolen from a home early Monday morning. The license plate is RYU025.
Detectives are reportedly reviewing security footage taken in the area that they hope will help in identifying the suspects or at least give them an idea of how many were involved.
Ard reminds everyone to take valuables out of their vehicles or put them where they can't be seen. He also suggested locking vehicle doors at all times.
Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
